Christina has worked on a broad range of civil litigation and insurance related matters. Her practice has included representing clients in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and in private arbitrations.
A sampling of Christina’s litigation experience includes the following:
- Acting for numerous Ontario Universities in actions involving defamation, breach of contract, negligence and other issues
- Successfully defended University of Western Ontario at trial in a matter involving the Campus Police
- Defending institutional clients in sexual abuse cases
- Acting for engineer in defective design and negligence action
- Acting for paint manufacturer in product liability action
- Acting for property managers and commercial property owners in defending actions by tenants and third parties
- Acting for police in cases alleging negligence and excessive use of force
- Obtained a dismissal of a breach of contract and tort action on a motion to strike
- Representing owners of apartment buildings at trial involving defective carpet installation
- Assisting clients in regard to disputes involving motor vehicle policies
- Defending life and disability insurance claims
- Acting for insurer at private arbitration in dispute regarding liability for payment of benefits
- Obtaining an Anton Piller order and injunction in an action involving theft of confidential information
