John Philp is an associate lawyer at Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP.

Areas of Practice & Experience:

John Philp is an associate with a practice focused on insurance defence, general civil and commercial litigation. He has a varied experience and deals with actions involving all facets of insurance defence, including motor vehicle accident tort claims, accident benefits claims, personal injury, property loss and product liability. He also practices extensively in subrogated claims and has recovered significant sums on behalf of a number of large insurance companies.

Since beginning his career with the firm in 2008, John has successfully participated in several trials. He has gained a broad experience with private mediations, as well as arbitrations before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He has appeared at all levels of court and has successfully contested motions before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Before joining Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP, John summered and articled in the litigation department of a large Bay Street firm in Toronto.
