Areas of Practice & Experience:
Michael’s practice focuses on insurance coverage litigation and insurance policy analysis. He has a particular interest in environmental litigation and coverage issues.
Michael also acts in matters involving property damage and product liability claims, conflict of laws, breach of fiduciary duty and intentional torts. He has analyzed the Yukon First Nations land claims agreements on behalf of the Arctic Athabaskan Council to determine whether the agreements could be used to help formulate climate change adaptation policies.
Before joining the firm, Michael summered and articled at a large full service firm where he gained experience negotiating settlements, representing clients at court and tribunals, and assisting senior counsel with trial preparation.
At law school, Michael was co-recipient of the Koskie Minsky award for highest standing in insurance law.
